Founded by three self-driving and robotics engineers in Edmonton in 2019, Robolution is dedicated to improve productivity and eliminate workplace injuries by automating construction equipment. With more than 15 years of combined experience in developing automation and AI models, our expertise covers every aspect of building a self-driving machine.
Bowen Xie, CEO
Bowen Xie, MSc., is an autonomous vehicle engineer with 5+ years of experience in robotics and machine learning, who also has a passion for entrepreneurship. He has co-founded and led the largest robotics student club at the University of Alberta and won the #1 in AI challenge in North America. For the past few years, he has been dedicated to applying self-driving and robotics technologies to the construction industry, and then he co-founded Robolution with three other enthusiastic friends with similar technical backgrounds.
Linjian Xiang, CTO
Linjian Xiang, MSc., has co-founded the RoboMaster student club and leads the electrical team for circuit and embedded system design. He also participated in multiple AI and computer vision projects including real-estate price estimation, pipeline leakage diagnostic, and forest ground fuel classification. Linjian’s graduate research is on Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), which uses camera or Lidar sensors to continuously generate a surrounding map or localize the equipment in a given map. Beside school works, he and two of our founders have designed a self-driving raspberry car. He also worked part-time at Huawei Hisilicon, Tetra Tec and YPC technology as a software engineer.
Mingjie Han, Machine Learning Scientist
Mingjie Han, MSc. Mingjie Han has 5 years of experience in robotic manipulators and machine learning development, who also has a passion for entrepreneurship. He worked on three high-degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator research, developed an algorithm for robot motion planning and control, and multiple convolutional networks for autonomous pick-n-place tasks, sensorless manipulator state estimation, and automatic training data labelling. Author in two papers published on IEEE robotics conferences.
